Zetland is and inner suburb of Sydney, a largely industrial suburb with medium to high density residential areas and is part of the Green Square district where an urban renewal project is constructing modern retail, business and residential developments.

Zetland is located 4 km's south of the Sydney CBD and is serviced by State Transit Authority buses and Green Square Railway Station.

Zetland was named for Thomas Dundas, 2nd Earl of Zetland, who was a friend of Governor Sir Hercules Robinson. Zetland is an archaic spelling of Shetland. Originally featuring a lagoon and swamp, it was drained in the early 1900s to create the Victoria Park racecourse. From 1902 a tram service operated through Zetland and the line but was closed in 1957.
