Stanmore is a suburb in the inner west of Sydney, home of the cultural icon "The Olympia Milk Bar".
Stanmore is located 6 km's south west of the Sydney CBD and is serviced by State Transit Authority buses and Stanmore Railway Station.
30 – 39 years is the predominant age group and households comprised of 52.8% family, 27.2% lone person and 10.0% groups.

Stanmore was named by a prosperous saddler, John Jones, who purchased land in 1835 where Newington College now stands and called it the Stanmore Estate. Jones named it after his birthplace of Stanmore, a north London suburb.
