Maroubra is a beachside suburb in south eastern Sydney, part of the Eastern Suburbs. Its main beach spans 1km and is now the second Australian beach to be named a National Surfing Reserve.
Maroubra is located 10 km's south east of the Sydney CBD and is serviced by State Transit Authority buses.

Major residential development began in the 1910's.
