Lane Cove is a suburb on the lower north shore of Sydney, it is mostly residential with some commercial and light Industrial areas and is known for its bushland atmosphere.

Lane Cove is located 9 km's north west of the Sydney CBD and is serviced by State Transit Authority buses and Lane Cove Ferry Service to the city.

30 - 39 years is the predominant age group and households comprised of 59.4% family, 31.7% lone person and 4.9% groups.

50.2% apartments, 9.2% semi/terrace, 38.8% separate houses and 1.4% other.

There are a number of schools in the area such as St Michaels School, Lane Cove Primary School and Lane Cove West Primary school, with St Ignatius College in nearby Riverview.

Lane Cove was an excellent source for timber and other commodities that the early settlers required and during the 19th century, farms and dairies were also established. Most of the residential growth in the area however occurred after World War II when returning soldiers were granted blocks of land around Lane Cove.
